On each trial, you will see the salary that you are paid, and the salaries of others who are doing the same work. In some cases, there is just one other person, called Person A, and in some cases there are two others doing the same work, called Person A and Person B.
For example, imagine that one other person doing the same work, Person A, is paid $46,000, and you are paid $40,000. How would you feel? In another case, imagine that you are paid $52,000 per year and Person A and Person B are paid $30,000 and $32,000. How happy would you be in that case? You should consider each trial below as a separate situation, and imagine how how you would feel in each case.
Your Salary might be one of these:
$40,000; $44,000; $48,000; or $52,000
Person A and Person B might earn one of these salaries:
$30,000; $32,000; $42,000; $46,000; $50,000; $60,000; or $62,000
Your task is to rate how dissatisfied or satisfied, how happy or unhappy, you would be if you received each of those salaries, now that you know what other people are getting who are doing the same work. Please make your ratings on the 7 point scale using integers from 1 to 7 to indicate how satisfied or dissatisfied you would feel about your salary:
1 = Not at all happy and 7 = extremely happy.
