Instructions for Liking of Persons Described by Two Adjectives


On each trial, you are asked to read two adjectives that describe a hypothetical person, imagine that person, and judge how much you would like that person. Imagine that both adjectives are equally accurate descriptions of the SAME person, and each adjective was provided by someone who knows the person well. Imagine a person who would be described by the two adjectives and judge how much you think you would like that person.

You will respond by clicking along the scale, to express your degree of liking, measured from the left end of the scale as follows:

10% from left = Dislike Very Very Much
20% from left = Dislike Very Much
30% from left = Dislike
40% from left = Dislike slightly
50% from left = Neutral (Neither like nor dislike)
60% from left = Like slightly
70% from left = Like
80% from left = Like Very Much
90% from left = Like Very Very Much
Judge each case relative to this scale. Remember, in this part, BOTH ADJECTIVES DESCRIBE THE SAME PERSON. How much would you like that person? After a few warmup trials, you will learn how to use the scale.
