THIS IS A NEW TASK: READ INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!
On each trial, you will see FOUR adjectives. Imagine there are TWO people. The one on the LEFT is described by the two adjectives on the left, and a different person is described by the two adjectives on the right. Imagine the two people and ask yourself which of the two people would you like more and how much more would you like one than the other.
You will respond by clicking one of the buttons, which are numbered from left to right, as follows:
1st button = Like the LEFT person very much more
2nd button = Like the LEFT person much more
3rd button = Like the LEFT person more
4th button = Like the LEFT person slightly more
5th button = Like both people EQUALLY
6th button = Like the RIGHT person slightly more
7th button = Like the RIGHT person more
8th button = Like the RIGHT person much more
9th button = Like the RIGHT person very much more
So, the more you like the person on the Right, compared to the one on the left, the farther your mark will be to the right. If you would like or dislike them equally, you should click the button in the middle of the scale.
Obviously, if the two pairs of adjectives are the same, you should click the button in the middle (5th button), because the two people are the same and equally likeable. After a few warmup trials, you will know how to use the scale.
