THIS IS A NEW TASK: READ INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!
On each trial, you will see FOUR adjectives. Imagine there are two people. The one on the LEFT is described by the two adjectives on the left, and a different person is described by the two adjectives on the right. Imagine the two people and ask yourself which of the two people would you like more and how much more would you like one than the other.
You will respond by clicking one of the buttons, which are numbered from left to right, as follows:
10% from left = Like the LEFT person very much more
20% from left = Like the LEFT person much more
30% from left = Like the LEFT person more
40% from left = Like the LEFT person slightly more
50% from left = Like both people EQUALLY (middle of line)
60% from left = Like the RIGHT person slightly more
70% from left = Like the RIGHT person more
80% from left = Like the RIGHT person much more
90% from left = Like the RIGHT person very much more
So, the more you like the person on the Right, compared to the one on the left, the farther your mark will be to the right. If you would like or dislike them equally, you should click the button in the middle of the scale.
Obviously, if the two pairs of adjectives are the same, you should click the button in the middle (5th button), because the two people are the same and equally likeable. After a few warmup trials, you will know how to use the scale.
